Why Life Ready Lab Exists

As a mom, trainer, and founder of itsBarbieJane, I created Life Ready Lab after realizing that many teens are expected to know basic real-life skills — but are not always given the chance to practice them.

I saw it in my own kids. Making a phone call, speaking to an adult, asking a question, filling out a form, handling money, and making a good first impression are things we often assume teens should know. But confidence does not happen by accident. It comes from practice.

Life Ready Lab was created to give teens a safe space and brave place to practice the skills they will need in real life.

Meet the Team

Barbie Jane Agahan

Barbie Jane Agahan is the founder of itsBarbieJane, LLC and Skillset Builders. She is a trainer, speaker, and program developer who helps individuals, teams, and organizations build confidence, communication, leadership, and real-world skills.

With a background in marketing, human resources, leadership development, and training, Barbie designs programs that are practical, engaging, and focused on helping people grow into their best version.

Through Life Ready Lab, she hopes to help teens practice the life skills they will use in school, at home, in the community, and eventually in the workplace.

Dena Pangelinan

Dena Pangelinan is a wife, mom of three, entrepreneur, and community advocate in Guam. With over 13 years of experience in the maritime industry and as the Immediate Past President of the Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce, she continues to proudly serve her community and champion programs that support women and families across the island.

She brings that same passion into the Life Ready Lab classroom by helping design workshops that provide practical tools, genuine confidence, and a stronger sense of self. Dena believes every young adult deserves to enter adulthood truly prepared — not just academically, but in life.

Hana Rae Flores

Hana Rae Flores is a 2025 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and an incoming pre-law student at the University of Portland. As a former soccer player, student, and supportive older sister, Hana brings a strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and encouragement to the program.

Through her experiences in school, work, athletics, and community roles, Hana has learned how much she enjoys working with people and helping others build confidence and practical life skills. She is excited to support students throughout Life Ready Lab as they practice communication, responsibility, and real-world readiness.
